Mac dupe? and Revlon goodies!

Over the last few days i have been on the hunt for a new foundation.
I am currently using Mac studio fix fluid foundation but have been trying to find a cheaper alternative.
I went out and swatched lots of different makes of foundations but couldn't make mind up there is so many that promise lots of different things so i came home empty handed and decided to do some research online and the foundation that i kept seeing in good reviews or in comparisons to the Mac foundation was the Revlon colour stay foundation.

So yesterday i went to boots and picked some up.

They have 2 differnt types of the colour stay foundation in a selection of colours for normal/ dry skin and also for combination/ oily skin. I went for the normal/dry one in 110 ivory which i would say is a touch to light for me, well i never thought i would see the day when im not the lightest possible shade in the shop!
Both the mac and Revlon foundation are 30ml and come in glass bottles however neither come with a pump which is a bit annoying.

The Revlon foudation costs £12.49 and the Mac costs £19.50 a differance of £7.01 between them Which is actually quite alot isn't it?

So far i really like the Revlon foundation its quite shinny when applied but i wear pressed powder to set it any way so it wasn't a problem for me it doesn't have quite as a full coverage as the Mac but its pretty good.
I am going to use it for a few more days and will do a full length review on it in time, as i would like to see how it lasts through the day, if its build able and how easy it is to remove at the end of the day etc So i will put it though its paces first.

I also picked up the Revlon Just Bitten lip stain.

Its looks similar to a felt tip one end and at the other end is a lip balm, which is fab as stains can be quite drying.

I picked the colour Twilight which is a beautiful luxurious deep plum/red.
Its not as drying on the lips as i expected and the felt tip style applicator gives for a precise application it doesn't last half as long as the Barry M magic lipstick i have previously blogged about but it lasts longer than lipstick, its build able to a darker plum colour and looks gorgeous with a top layer of gloss.
The Revlon just bitten stains are available in 7 shades and cost £7.99.

As i spent over £15 on Revlon products i got the little box of glamour free.

Which has 3 full size amazing products inside.
Grow luscious mascara which has a really big bushy brush which i love its not too wet and it made my lashes long and didn't make them clumpy worth £9.99

A stunning nail varnish which my mum has already asked to borrow called golden coin 146 its got tiny tiny pieces of gold shimmer in a gold varnish which is really pretty perfect for Christmas. Worth £6.49

Will try and get a better pic for you.

Last but not least a lovely lip gloss in the shade Coral reef its a really pretty colour and not too bight. Worth £7.99

  1. I've got colorstay and I quite like it, performance-wise. The colour tho is a bit of a let down.
The gift is pretty good too. The polish alone is worth it!!

  2. I've never tried a MAC foundation before, no one stocks it in my town, although I'm really tempted to stick it on my xmas list!
